Pregnancy and Post-Partum Support

Pregnancy and Post-Partum Support

There is no better time than when you are pregnant to be in optimal health. Along with all the positive emotions you may be having about your developing baby, there can also be some troublesome symptoms that pop up and make this a challenging time. Rest assured that there are natural solutions that can help prevent and treat those common symptoms such as nausea, fatigue, heartburn, constipation, and high blood pressure, to name a few.

What to expect:

1st Trimester visits:

  • Prescription of optimal diet and supplement regime
  • Management of any symptoms that arise such as morning sickness, fatigue, constipation, etc.
  • Physical activity recommendations
  • Answering any of your questions that arise

2nd Trimester visits:

  • Checking in on diet and supplement regime, making any necessary changes
  • Natural heartburn support if needed
  • Identification, treatment and prevention of nutritional deficiencies such as iron, B12, vitamin D and essential fatty acids
  • Stress management

3rd Trimester visits:

  • Checking back in on diet & supplement regime
  • Birth plan development
  • Discussing benefits of breastfeeding, answering any questions
  • Preparation for labour: herbal prescriptions, acupressure and acupuncture, homeopathic medicines, group B strep prevention and treatment, breech presentation management, stress reduction techniques

4th Trimester (post-partum) visits:

  • Breastfeeding support: ensuring proper latch and sufficient milk production, treating clogged ducts and mastitis
  • Mood support, preventing and treating post-partum mood disorders
  • Checking in on diet (including hydration) & supplement regime
  • Well-baby check ups

Although trying at times, pregnancy and childbirth are meant to be a wonderful experience and through natural support and guidance, I can help support you in optimizing the experience.

“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched – along with body – making pregnancy a time of transition, growth and profound beginnings”
– Anne Christian Buchanan and Debra K. Kingsporn
